ActivitiesSutherland is renowned for exceptional fishing and shooting but the beauty and remoteness of the area makes it ideal for many other activities including: Golfing - 18-hole courses at Dornoch (championship), Golspie, Brora and Tain. Also a 9-hole course at Bonar Bridge, Durness and Helmsdale. All within easy driving distance from Lairg. Hill-walking - Lairg is well situated offering easy to the "Munro's and Corbet's" of the North West of Sutherland. Forest Walks and Woodland Trails - Within Lairg there are several forest walks including: Ferrywood, Gunns Wood, Dalchork and the Archelogical Trail up the Ord. There are also many more walks found within a short distance from the village. Cycle Trails - This up and coming trend has seen numerous trails been developed with Rosehall, Balblair, Carbisdale and the famous Golspie Trails becoming popular with the locals and people from further afield. |
