What to See and Where to Go in Sutherland

Lairg is a small rural village situated in central Sutherland and is the ideal centre for exploring the North, East and West of the Highlands of Scotland.

Ferrycroft Visitor Centre - you can explore the many changes to Sutherland's landscapes along with interactive facilities depicting Lairg's local and social History. Pop in for a coffee in the cafe and visit the gift shop with many local handmade items. Starting point for the Forest walk through Ferry Wood or enjoy the archaeological trail over the Ord Hill.

Church Hill Wood Walk - New walk created in the centre of Lairg, starting from the carpark next to the War Memorial

Falls of Shin - watch the salmon leaping, take a walk through Shin Forest or relax in the restaurant and the shop complex.

Sallachy - Remains of ancient Broch

Shinness - The Murray Monument

Dalchork - The new Birdhide on the shores of Loch Shin

Lairg Gala Week - during second week of July events for the whole family to enjoy
